عقد وزير الداخلية أنس خطاب اجتماعاً موسعاً ضم قائد الأمن في البادية، العميد سفيان محمد الشيخ صالح، وعدداً من المسؤولين الأمنيين، للاطلاع على الوضع الأمني في المنطقة عقب الحادث الأخير الذي وقع في مدينة تدمر، وتقييم المخاطر القائمة لضمان استقرار المنطقة وحماية المواطنين.

وأوضحت وزارة الداخلية في منشور عبر قناتها على تلغرام أن الوزير خطاب استعرض خلال الاجتماع نتائج التحقيقات التي أجراها الفريق المكلف بمتابعة مجريات الحادث، وناقش التوصيات الرامية إلى تعزيز كفاءة الوحدات الأمنية ومعالجة أي ثغرات في الأداء، مؤكداً على التنسيق التام فيما بينها.

وشدد وزير الداخلية على تفعيل الجاهزية الميدانية للفرق المختصة لضمان سرعة الاستجابة لمواجهة تنظيم داعش الإرهابي، والحفاظ على الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.

وكانت وحدات وزارة الداخلية قد نفذت أول أمس عملية أمنية نوعية وحاسمة في مدينة تدمر، عقب الهجوم الإرهابي الجبان الذي نفذه عنصر تابع لتنظيم داعش في 13 من الشهر الجاري، واستهدف مقر اجتماع قيادة الأمن الداخلي في البادية السورية، بمشاركة وفد من التحالف الدولي، ما أسفر عن مقتل جنديين أميركيين ومترجم مدني، إضافة إلى إصابة ثلاثة جنود أميركيين واثنين من عناصر الأمن السوري.

Interior Minister Anas Khattab held an extensive meeting with the Commander of Security in the Badia, Brigadier General Sufyan Muhammad al-Sheikh Saleh, and several security officials to review the security situation in the area following the recent incident in Palmyra, and to assess the existing risks to ensure regional stability and protect citizens.

The Ministry of Interior stated via its Telegram channel that Minister Khattab reviewed during the meeting the results of investigations conducted by the team assigned to follow up on the incident, and discussed recommendations aimed at enhancing the efficiency of security units and addressing any performance gaps, stressing full coordination among them.

The Interior Minister also emphasized activating the field readiness of specialized teams to ensure rapid response to confront the ISIS terrorist organization and maintain security and stability in the region.

The Ministry’s units carried out the day before yesterday a qualitative and decisive security operation in Palmyra, following the cowardly terrorist attack carried out by an ISIS member on the 13th of this month, targeting the headquarters of the Internal Security Command in the Syrian Badia, with the participation of a delegation from the International Coalition, resulting in the death of two American soldiers and a civilian translator, in addition to injuring three American soldiers and two Syrian security personnel.
