\n\nأطلقت جمعية “عطاء” للإغاثة الإنسانية بالتنسيق مع مديرية الأوقاف ودائرة الآثار في معرة النعمان أعمال ترميم وإعادة تأهيل المسجد الكبير في المدينة، والذي يُعد من أبرز المعالم الأثرية في محافظة إدلب.
\n\nوأوضح المسؤول في الجمعية أحمد هاشم في تصريح لمراسل العاصمة نيوز أن مسجد معرة النعمان الكبير يحمل قيمة إنسانية كبيرة للشعب السوري عامة وللمسلمين خاصة، مشيراً إلى أن من مهام الجمعية ترميم ما يمكن من الأوابد الأثرية والمعالم التاريخية في سوريا، وكان مسجد معرة النعمان في مقدمتها.

وقال: “تم التنسيق مع مديرية الأوقاف ودائرة الآثار لتقييم أضرار المسجد، ووضع خطة ترميم تمتد لعام كامل منذ بدء العمل، تشمل إعادة تأهيل المئذنة والمزولة والميضأة وساحة المسجد والباحة والقباب الداخلية التي تضررت جراء قصف النظام السابق، وقد بدأت أعمال الترميم بشكل مكثف، ونأمل تسليم المسجد في الموعد المحدد”.
\nمن جهته، أوضح رئيس دائرة آثار معرة النعمان عبد السلام الحمو أن المسجد كان معبداً قديماً ثم تحول في العصر البيزنطي إلى كنيسة قبل أن يصبح مسجداً في الفترة الأموية، واتخذ شكله الحالي في العصر العباسي.
\n\nوأضاف الحمو أن المسجد تعرض لحرائق في عهد الإمبراطور نقفور الثاني فوكاس عام 969 ميلادي، ثم خضع لعمليات ترميم متعاقبة في العصور المملوكية والأيوبية والعثمانية، وفي الفترة الحديثة تعرض لضربات صاروخية أدت إلى دمار واسع في المئذنة والساحة والحرم، مشيراً إلى أن دائرة الآثار والمتاحف تعمل بالتعاون مع مديرية الأوقاف وجمعية عطاء على إعادة ترميمه وتأهيله للحفاظ عليه كصرح حضاري ومركز إشعاع تاريخي وإسلامي في المنطقة.
\n\nويندرج هذا المشروع ضمن جهود الحفاظ على التراث السوري وإحياء الهوية الثقافية والتاريخية لمعرة النعمان، التي لطالما شكل مسجدها الكبير رمزاً لعراقتها وامتدادها الحضاري عبر العصور.

\n\nAhmed Hashem, a representative of the association, told Al-Asima News correspondent that the Great Mosque of Maarrat al-Nu'man holds significant human value for the Syrian people in general and Muslims in particular. He noted that one of the association's missions is to restore as many archaeological monuments and historical landmarks in Syria as possible, with the mosque being a top priority.
\n\nHe added, \"We coordinated with the Directorate of Endowments and the Antiquities Department to assess the damage to the mosque and developed a restoration plan spanning one year since the work began. The plan includes rehabilitating the minaret, mizwala, mihrab, mosque courtyard, plaza, and interior domes damaged by shelling from the former regime. Restoration work has started intensively, and we hope to deliver the mosque on schedule.\"
\nMeanwhile, the head of Maarrat al-Nu'man Antiquities Department, Abdul Salam Al-Hamo, explained that the mosque was originally an ancient temple, then converted into a church during the Byzantine era before becoming a mosque in the Umayyad period, taking its current form in the Abbasid era.
\n\nAl-Hamo added that the mosque suffered fires during the reign of Emperor Nikephoros II Phocas in 969 AD, followed by successive restorations during the Mamluk, Ayyubid, and Ottoman eras. In modern times, it was hit by missile strikes causing extensive damage to the minaret, courtyard, and sanctuary. He pointed out that the Antiquities and Museums Department, in cooperation with the Directorate of Endowments and Ata'a Association, is working to restore and rehabilitate it to preserve it as a cultural monument and a historical and Islamic center in the region.

\nPar ailleurs, le chef du Département des Antiquités de Maarrat al-Nu'man, Abdul Salam Al-Hamo, a expliqué que la mosquée était à l'origine un ancien temple, puis a été convertie en église à l'époque byzantine avant de devenir une mosquée à la période omeyyade, prenant sa forme actuelle à l'époque abbasside.
\n\nAl-Hamo a ajouté que la mosquée a subi des incendies sous le règne de l'empereur Nicéphore II Phocas en 969 après J.-C., suivis de restaurations successives aux époques mamelouke, ayyoubide et ottomane. À l'époque moderne, elle a été touchée par des frappes de missiles causant d'importants dégâts au minaret, à la cour et au sanctuaire. Il a souligné que le Département des Antiquités et des Musées, en coopération avec la Direction des Awqaf et l'association Ata'a, travaille à sa restauration et sa réhabilitation afin de la préserver en tant que monument culturel et centre historique et islamique dans la région.
