أكد المدير العام للشركة العامة لمصفاة حمص، المهندس خالد محمد علي، أن المصفاة تواصل عملها ولن يتم إغلاقها قبل الانتهاء الكامل من تنفيذ المصفاة الجديدة في منطقة الفرقلس ودخولها الخدمة.

وأوضح علي في تصريح خاص لـ\"العاصمة نيوز\" أن تجهيز المصفاة الجديدة يستغرق من ثلاث إلى أربع سنوات، بحمولة تصميمية تصل إلى نحو 150 ألف برميل يومياً، بالإضافة إلى إنشاء مجمع للمواد البتروكيماوية في ذات المنطقة، مشيراً إلى أن إنشاء المصفاة الجديدة يمثل خياراً اقتصادياً مهماً يواكب التطورات العالمية في تقنيات التكرير، ويضمن قدرة تشغيلية مستدامة وفعالة لفترات طويلة.

وأشار إلى أن المصفاة الحالية تضم أربع وحدات إنتاج تعتمد على التقطير الجوي، إلى جانب مشروع لتحسين مادة النفتا لإنتاج بنزين عالي الأوكتان يلبي احتياجات السوق المحلية، مبيناً أن بعض الوحدات تعمل حالياً بينما تستكمل أعمال الصيانة والتجهيز في وحدتين أخريين تمهيداً لإعادة تشغيلهما، لتصل الطاقة التشغيلية إلى نحو 60–70 ألف برميل يومياً من المشتقات النفطية.

ولفت علي إلى أن المصفاة الحالية متقادمة نتيجة استهلاك العمر الخدمي، مع وجود دراسات سابقة لنقل المصفاة وإنشاء أخرى جديدة بقرار من وزارة الطاقة والشركة السورية للبترول.

من جهته، أوضح مدير الإنتاج في الشركة فراس علي أن وحدات التقطير الجوي متوقفة حالياً باستثناء الوحدة 22 التي أنهت أعمال الصيانة مؤخراً وتم تشغيلها بنجاح، مضيفاً أن الوحدة 10، وهي وحدة تقطير جوي، تقترب من الانتهاء من أعمال الصيانة لتجهيزها للعمل خلال يومين، بينما شارفت الوحدة 21 على الانتهاء من الصيانة استعداداً لإعادة التشغيل.

وأشار المدير إلى أن أبرز التحديات التي تواجه المصفاة تتمثل في نقص قطع الغيار، مما أدى سابقاً إلى خروج بعض الوحدات من الخدمة بشكل متكرر، مؤكداً أن كوادر المصفاة تمكنت من تجاوز هذه الصعوبات بالإمكانات والخبرات المتاحة.

وشدد على أن نقص قطع الغيار يبقى من أهم العوامل التي قد تؤثر على استمرارية التشغيل إذا لم يتم معالجتها، مشيراً إلى أن العمل جارٍ حالياً لتوريد مجموعة من القطع اللازمة لتحقيق استقرار تشغيلي أكبر.

وتعد الشركة العامة لمصفاة حمص، التي تأسست عام 1959، من أقدم المنشآت النفطية في سوريا، وقد تراجعت كفاءتها مع مرور الوقت، فيما أعلن الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة السورية للبترول يوسف قبلاوي خلال معرض \"سير بترو 7\" الأسبوع الماضي أن الشركة تعمل حالياً على إنشاء مصفاة جديدة تبعد 51 كيلومتراً عن مدينة حمص.

The General Manager of the Homs Refinery Company, Engineer Khaled Mohamed Ali, confirmed that the refinery continues its operations and will not be shut down until the new refinery in the Farqalas area is fully completed and put into service.

Ali explained in an exclusive statement to \"Al Asima News\" that preparing the new refinery requires three to four years, with a design capacity of approximately 150,000 barrels per day, in addition to establishing a petrochemical complex in the same area. He indicated that the new refinery project is an economically significant option that keeps pace with global refining technologies and ensures sustainable and efficient operational capacity for long periods.

He pointed out that the current refinery includes four production units relying on atmospheric distillation, alongside a project to improve naphtha to produce high-octane gasoline that meets local market needs. Some units are currently operational, while maintenance and preparation works are ongoing for two other units in preparation for their startup, aiming to reach an operational capacity of about 60–70 thousand barrels per day of petroleum derivatives.

Ali noted that the current refinery is deteriorated due to aging, with previous studies on relocating the existing refinery and establishing a new one by decision of the Ministry of Energy and the Syrian Petroleum Company.

Production Manager Firas Ali stated that atmospheric distillation units are currently stopped except for unit 22, which recently completed maintenance and was successfully restarted. He added that unit 10, an atmospheric distillation unit currently under maintenance, is nearing completion and will be ready to operate within two days, while unit 21 is close to finishing its required maintenance in preparation for restart.

The director explained that the main challenges facing the refinery are the shortage of spare parts, which previously caused some units to frequently go out of service. He confirmed that refinery staff have been overcoming these difficulties with available resources and expertise.

He emphasized that the shortage of spare parts remains one of the key factors that may affect operational continuity if not addressed, noting that efforts are currently underway to supply necessary parts to achieve greater operational stability.

The General Company of Homs Refinery, established in 1959, is one of the oldest oil facilities in Syria, with its efficiency declining over time. The CEO of the Syrian Petroleum Company, Youssef Qablawi, announced last week during the “Syr Petro 7” exhibition that the company is currently working on establishing a new refinery 51 kilometers from the city of Homs.
